Welcome to St. George’s Parents’ Association. All parents of students at SGES, as well as all faculty are members of the Parents’ Association (PA). There is no cost for membership. The purpose of the PA as stated in our bylaws is “…to promote, supplement, and enhance St. George’s Episcopal School and its academic, athletic, and social programs…”. St. George’s values the involvement and dedication of its parents.

Get Involved

There are many ways to get involved and we encourage you to take advantage of them as they provide opportunities to be involved in your child’s education and will increase your familiarity with the school and other SGES families. It is well worth your time and effort. Some opportunities to consider are helping with Pizza Fridays, Classroom Parties, Holiday Events, and the Get-Away-Gig (the SGES annual dinner and auction).

Several PA meetings will be held throughout the year. The meetings cover business issues and seek to provide parents with useful information about a range of topics such as the Headmaster’s State of the School address, educational issues, and parenting concerns. Voting members of the PA include the PA Board: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and the Room Parents. However, we request and value the input of every member. One or more parents from each class is asked to serve as the Room Parent. The responsibilities of the Room Parent include keeping the PA briefed on areas of concern to the parents of your classroom, recruiting volunteers for classroom parties or school wide events, and serving as an ambassador for the PA. Room Parents are also voting members of the board.
